Play Catan-style matches against AI and climb the ratings
1.What is Solo Play?
Solo Play is the rated mode against AI opponents. Results are reflected in your rating, letting you track your improvement with numbers.

2.How to Start
Solo play is available as soon as you log in.
Select 'Solo Play' from the dashboard
Choose an AI strength tier (Beginner to Master)
Opponents are automatically selected and the game begins
Your rating updates based on the result
Leaving mid-game counts as a loss. If you disconnect or close the tab, the game is suspended and can be resumed from Home, but it counts as a loss if not resumed within 90 days. Once you start a game, play it through to the end.
3.AI Opponents & Strength Tiers
AI opponents are divided into 5 tiers by strength. Higher tiers result in larger rating changes.
★Beginner
AI using basic strategies. Recommended for first-time players.
★★Intermediate
Balanced AI that considers resource management and build timing.
★★★Advanced
Strategic AI that evaluates optimal placement and negotiation.
★★★★Expert
Elite AI pursuing the best move in every situation. A challenge for top players.
★★★★★Master
The summit tier where Zenith — the strongest AI that reads the whole board and plans entire turns — always awaits, joined by top Expert AIs.

Choosing a strength tier randomly picks AI opponents from that tier (Master always includes Zenith). To handpick specific opponents, add them from Practice or the room lobby.
4.Rating System
A solo play-specific rating quantifies your skill level. Based on the OpenSkill algorithm for fair evaluation.
How It Works
- •Starting rating is 1200
- •Win to gain rating, lose to drop
- •Your first 10 matches never lower your rating (wins still raise it)
- •Higher ratings unlock higher AI tiers
- •When a higher tier unlocks, the tier directly below becomes locked (to discourage rating farming)
- •Check your rating and match history on your profile page

Practice is also available for casual games. Choose the right mode for your goal.

6.FAQ
What happens if I quit mid-game?
Leaving mid-game is recorded as a loss and your rating will decrease (during your first few Solo Play games, losses do not lower your rating). We recommend playing each game to completion.
How do the AI strength levels differ?
Beginner uses basic strategies, Intermediate is balanced, Advanced uses sophisticated judgment, and Expert pursues the optimal move in every situation. Higher tiers mean more refined AI decision-making.
Can I reset my rating?
There is currently no rating reset feature. Your rating will converge to match your actual skill level as you play more games.
Can I pick specific AI opponents in Practice?
Yes, in Practice every AI is available regardless of your rating. In team mode, you can also choose which AIs play as your allies or as opponents.
Can I add AI to room matches?
Yes, you can add AI players in the room match lobby. You can auto-select by strength tier or manually pick specific AIs. Note that room matches with AI players are not recorded in your stats (only Solo Play and human-only games are recorded).
